Day 7 - Salzburg, Austria

This morning it was overcast with a slight rain. We decided it was a little too gloomy to take a tour bus around Munich so we headed to the train station and caught the next train to Salzburg at 9:30am. The train was pretty fast, only taking 1hour and 28minutes.

As you cross the river by train you can see the Hohensalzburg Fortress overlooking the city.

We took a short bus ride to the old town and checked into the hotel. This hotel is right in the center of the "old town" and is remarkably different than out last hotel.

Here is looking back across the river to the new town.

There is food everywhere.

Even the cemetery is a tourist attraction.

Salzburg is the birthplace of Mozart.

Around 7pm we took the funicular up to the fortress where there are great views of the entire city.
