Sunday morning

Today was a lazy day. Many of the shops are closed. We decided to go to the National Museum of Rome, which is fairly close to the train station. It is said to have the greatest collection of ancient Roman art anywhere. I think the Capitoline Museum had far more to see.

The National Museum of Rome can be seen behind this very large fountain (not part of the museum). The train station is just a few blocks down the left side of the museum.

A boxer resting.

This picture depicts where they found the boxer.

I should have mom stand in front of this bowl because it is huge.

A copy of the famous Greek athlete.

There were many wall mosaics in the museum.

Here's a close up to show how tiny the tiles are.

In the basement is a large vault that holds hundreds of coins.
