Thursday morning

Today we started out taking the Metro to the Spanish Steps. Our main goal was to see the Borghese Gallery which is the only thing we had reservations to.

We started walking down the street and ended up in the Piazza de Popolo.

Next we walked toward the Tiber river and down along it until we reached Castle St. Angeloand crossed the river.

From there we crossed into another sovereign country, Vatican City. Although we plan to visit the Vatican Friday or Saturday, I couldn't resist walking the short distance to St. Peter's square.

Since we were a good distance from the Borghese Gallery and it started raining, we took a taxi to the Gallery. Unfortunately, pictures are not permitted in the gallery so I do not have any pictures.
